John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice (IATA: KRK; ICAO: EPKK) is the international airport serving Krakow, in Poland. Concretely, the airport is located in Balice, 11 km away from Balice ciy centre and about 20 km from Krakow city centre.

 

 

The airport operates as the hub for LOT Polish Airlines and Ryanair.

Krakow is a very well known fascinating medieval city in Europe and one of the few that escaped destruction during the World War II. The city is also famous for its Gothic churches and its beautiful Old Town attested by UNESCO, where there are many must-see attractions to be visited: the Renaissance Hall Sukiennice located in the Old Town Market Square famous for its main square; St Mary's Basilica, one of the most important religious buildings within the town;

the Church St. Anne, which represents very well the Polish Baroque architecture; the Barbican, an old fotress connecting St. Florian's gate with the rest of the world; the Pharmacy Museum is a route tripthrough the medicinal past in the town.
